Let's face it. Not everyone can afford the authentic designer labels. And not all of those who can, do justice to the label anyway.
Why is a fashion magazine a more-preferred read by the majority of women? Even if the girls on the glossy pages make them feel fat and a lot less pretty than they actually are, these girls still serve to be their inspiration. Marketing strategy? Definitely. And whether or not you can really achieve the look on the pages is something that remains to be seen.
Nobody needs to be a fashion model to look and feel good about herself. But most women, especially the younger ones, refuse to believe this. In fact, about $40 billion is generated by the "diet industry" in the United States every year. This shows how much impact the models have in society.
Experts say that the "thin" concept is a somewhat new trend. Years ago, fashion models need not be as skinny as they are now. Ask around and you'll be surprised that not a lot of people know that Marilyn Monroe's wardrobe were size 14.
Fashion shows highlight the most trendy and exclusive wardrobe collections. Again, the models have the responsibility of being able to carry the garments very well on the runway. The collections are not necessarily the latest fashion. Some fashion shows are held to introduce a designer's new line. However, all of these fashion events are done to add glamour to the fashion scene.
The most expensive labels in fashion are collections of the greatest fashion designers. However, the fashion industry has been facing serious "copyright" issues. The imitation of these fashion-label originals have become more serious since these "knock offs" actually reach the stores way before the originals are made available in the market.
Every fashion designer would want credit for his creation. And because affordable imitation has started engulfing the fashion industry, more and more designers are clamoring for the imposition of the Copyright Act. But does fashion design deserve the protection of such act? This issue remains unresolved since the fashion industry is full of designers who come out with the same fashion ideas for each season.
Even little girls have caught on with the fashion bug. They may not have learned the hassles of dieting but they sure have a lot of exposure to the latest in fashion. Dolls are now dressed-up like the real models in a fashion show. These little girls can act as would-be designers and dress up their dolls in the trendiest collections. Some parents may not approve of this early fashion "caught-on" but these fashion games are definitely a better alternative to dieting.
Fashion is not exactly a complicated thing. A person doesn't have to follow the most current trend or another person's fashion preference in order to look nice. Experts even reiterate that all things seen in the fashion scene are actually recycled. Trends are believed to repeat themselves in twenty or so years. So if you're holding on to you're 80's fashion collection, time will come when you have to dig them all up and flaunt them again. But for now, lay off the punk get-up and settle for the safer emo fashion look instead. Everyone has a different opinion on what emo really is. But generally, if it is not something from the thrift store, then it probably isn't emo.
