She designed a collection of black, hardwearing, unlabelled but finely created handbags, which became instant hits in the fashion industry. It was during this time Miuccia realized she has indeed a calling for fashion design. She continued the family’s luggage empire, creating bags that are said to be a supermodel’s choice for accessory.

After being successful in the luggage and leather goods industry, Miuccia felt the urge of doing more, thus the birth of Miu Miu fashion line, which includes Miu Miu shoes in 1992. Miu Miu is actually the nickname of Miuccia Prada. Her designs were purely inspired by her personal wardrobe, which explains why every piece of her designs has that distinctive feminine touch in them. Most of her styles are stylish and clean at the same time, with exquisite craftsmanship. In 1994, she launched her very first Miu Miu collection in New York, and then later opened her own boutique in downtown London.
