Nothing beats going out walking on style and class. That is the main reason why a lot of people love going out wearing designer pieces of clothes and accessories, with designer shoes that complement their looks. Yves Saint Laurent shoes have been well loved by shoe lovers over for the past years. Why is this so?

The History Of Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent was born on August 1, 1936 in Algeria. His full name is Yves Henri Donat-Mathieu-Saint-Laurent and he is a famous French Fashion designer. He always had a passion for passion that’s why at a tender age of seventeen, he left his home and worked for Christian Dior, another famous French Fashion Designer during that time. After the untimely death of Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent was placed in charge of the fashion line in hopes of saving Dior’s fashion house.

Yves Saint Laurent became successful in keeping the Dior fashion house. Sad to say though, he was forced to serve the French army on the Algerian wars of independence. Him, not being exposed to such harsh world, was institutionalized following a 20-day stressful hazing he fazed from the French soldiers. He suffered nervous breakdown due to electroshock, thus making him placed under a mental institution.

When he wasn’t able to recuperate on time, he was fired from the Dior house. But this never didn’t put him down. Instead, he created his very own label, YSL, together with his then-lover, Pierre Berge. Between the 60’s and the 70’s, Yves Saint Laurent created and designed the most prominent tuxedo suit intended for women called the Le Smoking. In his attempt to democratize the fashion sense of that time, he pioneered ready-to-wear clothing. He was also the very first fashion designer who used black models to do his clothing collection.

Over a decade, Yves Saint Laurent continued to soar high, creating varied selections of clothing and expanding his branches from across the globe. In 1993, Yves Saint Laurent sold his fashion house to a very well know pharmaceutical brand named Sanofi, at a cost of six hundred billion dollars. In 1999, Gucci, another leading fashion brand, bought the Yves Saint Laurent brand. This type, Tom Ford, Gucci’s in house designer, took care of the ready to wear collection of the company, while Yves Saint Laurent took care of the haute couture’s designs.

In 2002, due to drug abuse, poor health, alcoholism and depression from Tom Ford, Gucci and Yves Saint-Laurent finally closed the YSL couture house. Presently, though the couture house no longer exists, everybody can still feel the luxury of the Yves Saint Laurent products thru its mother company, Gucci.

Yves Saint Laurent shoes are still available today, though the YSL couture house has long been closed. The YSL boots, the YSL pumps, and other Yves Saint Laurent shoes are designed to have the perfect comfort of the users. They are made from genuine leather and they are ultra-stylish with lace-up designs, perfect for any occasion.

Aside from the above YSL shoes, there are also YSL men’s shoes, to cater the walking pleasures of men who prefer to have these pieces of designer foot wears.

Many people are really very thankful of their Yves Saint Laurent Shoes not just because of the designs and styles and comfort it gives, but also because of its surprisingly reasonable prices. A pair of Yves Saint Laurent Shoes ranges from as low as seventy dollars to as high as two hundred dollars.

Delight yourself now with a classic and elegant pair of Yves Saint Laurent shoes. It sure can make heads turn because of the sophistication and classiness it brings.
